Multicultural Scholars Preview Days (MSPD)

ClassroomLibraryStudent Reading

Each year, the Reed Admission Office offers domestic high school seniors from historically underrepresented racial/ethnic backgrounds an opportunity to apply for a fly-in program called Multicultural Scholars Preview Days (MSPD). In 2010, the program will take place November 11-13, and the deadline for applying is October 1.

If accepted to the program, students will receive a trip to Reed College with all expenses paid by the College. MSPD students will stay on campus with current students as their dorm hosts. They will experience Reed's academic environment firsthand by attending classes and meeting professors. MSPD students will also have the chance to engage with Reedies, admission staff, and other community members. In addition, they can explore the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon.

We receive a wealth of MSPD applications for a very limited number of spaces. Unfortunately, we are not able to admit as many MSPD candidates as we would like due to the competitive nature of the applicant pool. Regardless of admittance to the MSPD fly-in program, we encourage you to apply to Reed. Applying for MSPD demonstrates your interest in and excitement about Reed. MSPD applicants also receive the benefit of a waived application fee to Reed. How do you apply? Inquire within!

Feel free to contact us at 1.800.547.4750 or via email if you have questions about Reed or this program. We look forward to hearing from you!
