Giving to Reed |

What’s your reason?
In admission essays, Reed applicants answer the question “Why Reed” by explaining why they believe Reed would be an appropriate place, both academically and socially, to continue their education.
To a full-fledged Reedie, however, the question becomes more nuanced, more complicated, and more personal. Why does Reed matter? What makes Reed different from any other institution of higher learning? What happens at Reed—in the classroom, the lab, the studio—to make learning so scholarly, participatory, and distinctive?
This past year, Reed Annual Fund volunteers and staff posed our own version of the question to alumni and parents: Why give?
Like the responses to “Why Reed?” from Reedies, the answers to our question “Why give?” are broad and diverse, and they often pose more questions than they answer. After all, who would expect anything less from Reedies and Reed friends?

Your gifts to the Annual Fund support all that you love and appreciate about Reed and are just one way to continue to participate in the life of the college.
Your reasons for giving matter because they inspire your generosity. And your generosity helps make Reed a place where even simple questions elicit thoughtful, compelling, and meaningful answers.
Please make your gift, and share your reason.
