H1N1 News & Information
February 5, 2010
Reed’s experience with ILI was consistent with incidence in the Northwest and nationally. We saw the number of new cases at the HCC build in September, peak in October, and fall during November and December.
Nationwide, ILI activity has been relatively low since the start of the new semester. The CDC reports that most new cases of ILI continue to be H1N1. Flu season is expected to continue for several more months. It is possible that flu activity will rise and that we will see another wave of ILI at Reed.
The temporary trailer located adjacent to the HCC has been a huge asset in managing our response to ILI. We plan to keep the trailer on campus into at least March. We promise that it will be gone in time for Renn Fayre.
