Visiting Reed & Portland
Travel arrangements
To help students and parents find the most economical airfare possible, we have enlisted a local travel agency, Ellis-Ranian Travel, 503/671-9111. Identify yourself as a Reed community member. Most major airlines service Portland International Airport (PDX).
Free airport shuttle
Reed will provide a free airport shuttle, 9 a.m.– 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 25. Look for Reedies staffing a table in the baggage claim area. Shuttles will be provided only on Wednesday, and will run continuously between campus and the airport. No reservations are required.

- Board MAX Red Line to City Center & Beaverton Transit Center
- Get off at Hollywood/NE 42nd Ave Transit Center MAX Station

- Get off at SE César E. Chavez Blvd & Knight
- Walk 0.4 mile west to 3203 SE Woodstock Blvd
Travel time: 65 minutes (including 14 minutes walking and 8 minutes waiting)

Cab fare from the airport to Reed costs about $35, from downtown to Reed is about $20.

Shuttle Service
The Blue Star Airporter (503/249-1837) costs $30 one way (additional passenger, $3), $56.75 round trip (additional passenger, $6), and leaves the airport every half hour from 8 a.m. to midnight.

Lodging & restaurant guides
The college has negotiated special rates with several local hotels. Call the hotel to make your reservation and mention the “Reed rate.” While you are in town, enjoy some of Portland’s fabulous restaurants.
Directions
View driving directions. Parking is available in any campus lot. No permit is necessary. The west lot is recommended for check-in at Kaul auditorium.
