Starting and funding an organization
As you can tell from the large number of organizations on campus, starting your own is simple. Student organizations at Reed have no formal recognition process. Each semester, signators of organizations declare their intent to lead an organization and request funding through the senate. For more information on funding your organization, please visit the student body's website (coming soon!).
Event registration
Student activities staff can help you with all aspects of event planning including room reservations, reserving tables, arranging for A/V, and much more. We also have band and speaker contracts, information on successful event planning, and markers and butcher paper to advertise events. Signators' toolkit
This binder is meant to help you manage your organization and help others keep it going after you leave. You've worked to hard to build up your organization, and you wouldn't see it fall apart when you write your thesis! The toolkit features interactive worksheets, tips on running a group, and lots of room to keep important notes; it will help you take your group to the next step. Come pick up a copy if you missed your opportunity at signators' training.
Student organization resource files
Graduating? Leaving for the summer? Do you have lots of resources for your organization but don't know what to do with them? Leave them in our resource drawer for your successor to pick up next year. We'll keep them safe until someone can come and take advantage of them. If no one claims them, we'll notify the new signator.

Student senate
The student senate plays a large and influential role on Reed's campus. Senate is the voice of the students: it funds student organizations, plays a role in campus policy-making, and works with the staff to generally improve the quality of student life. If you would like to get involved or learn more about the election process, email a current senate member.
Senate advising
The student activities staff enjoys a close relationship with the Reed student senate. We attend senate meetings in order to act as a resource. We also meet weekly with the dean of student services, the senate president, and the senate vice president to discuss matters that are important to the student body.
